NEW DELHI: Five simple words started a year-long mission for Gujarat-based content creator Maya Gupta: “MrBeast challenge, start 365 days.” On October 2026, her effort paid off when she met the global YouTuber in person. He also gifted her $10,000 (about Rs 9.5 lakh) to support her work.

How the challenge began

Gupta posted the challenge on August 18, 2025. She named it “Maya for Beast” and set one clear goal: to meet MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson.

She shared her journey through daily videos on her Instagram account, mayaforbeast. In every video, she tagged MrBeast, hoping he would notice her.

Over the next 365 days, her steady efforts gained attention online. Followers kept track of her progress and waited to see whether she would reach her goal.

Helping others along the way

Gupta did not use her platform only for the challenge. She also helped people in her own community. She gave meals to poor children and families, handed out gifts and clothes, and supported small street vendors by buying their stock or giving them money.

MrBeast notices her

Her hard work finally caught MrBeast’s eye. In September 2026, he reportedly saw her repeated posts and asked for her email address and WhatsApp details. The meeting took place in October 2026, ending her year-long challenge.

MrBeast then shared an Instagram video introducing Gupta. He said she had been feeding her local community for the past year and tagging him in all her videos.

He added that he had followed her journey and was impressed by her commitment to helping others. He then surprised her with $10,000 to support her charity work.

What Gupta plans to do

Gupta said she does not want to keep all the money for herself. She wants to share it with others. She also plans to continue her food drives and community work.

Internet reacts

The video of their meeting spread fast and crossed 60 million views. Many users praised Gupta for her determination and kindness. Several people also thanked MrBeast for recognising her efforts.

One user wrote, “Finally, didi ka sapna pura karlia.” Another said, “You are a good person and a hero.” A third commented, “I think I’m happier than Maya that you met her.”
