Editorial Policy

Our editorial standard is to give readers information they can assess. Articles should identify their evidence, distinguish facts from interpretation and acknowledge meaningful uncertainty.

Sources and verification

Prefer original documents, public records, research papers, official statements and direct reporting where available. An official statement is evidence of what an organisation says, not automatic proof of every claim it contains. Attribute disputed claims and seek relevant responses.

Authorship and expertise

Published work should carry an accountable author. Author biographies must describe real experience and qualifications. Specialist claims, particularly in health and financial coverage, need appropriate evidence and review; general reporting is not individual advice.

Corrections and updates

Material errors should be corrected with a visible note explaining the change. An update adds new information; a correction repairs inaccurate information. Publication and modification dates should reflect genuine editorial activity.

Images and representation

Use photographs with documented rights. Provide required attribution beside the image. Label conceptual illustrations and reconstructed scenes so they are not mistaken for documentary evidence. Respect privacy and avoid sensational imagery without a clear editorial reason.

Assisted writing

Tools may help research, organise or edit a draft. They do not replace verification or transfer responsibility away from the author and editor. Fabricated quotations, sources, personal experience and synthetic evidence are not acceptable.

Commercial independence

Advertising and sponsorship must be distinguishable from editorial coverage. Contributors should disclose relevant interests. Paid placement is not presented as an independent recommendation.
